Over the last three years Counselling Psychologist, Leslie Shoemaker, M.Sc., has developed modules for DIT on Key Skills and Study Skills for two courses in Science as well as for the Department of Electrical Services Engineering. In addition to delivering these modules, she serves as the Student Retention Officer for FT 010 (Department of Electrical Services Engineering) as well as one of the two facilitators for the mature students’ programme, ’Unlocking your potential as a mature student’. Her current areas of interest are key skills, transition to third level for first year students, study skills and staff mentoring.
