Dr. Anne Murphy is based in the Directorate of Academic Affairs.
Previously she worked as Learning Development Officer in the DIT
for several years and was Co-ordinator of the Masters in Third
Level Learning and Teaching.
Prior to that she worked in NUI Maynooth where she was involved
in design, development, management and delivery of part-time, modular
programmes for mature students, and for two years as the manager
of the NUI Maynooth Outreach Campus in Kilkenny.
She has for many years acted as an independent consultant to the
Council of Europe on capacity building for participatory democracy
at local level in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia-Montenegro and Kaliningrad.
Her particular research interest is in accreditation of non-formal
and informal learning. In this regard she represents the DIT on
the FETAC Technical Working Group on Recognition of Prior Learning
and the NQAI Advisory Group on Recognition and Accreditation of
Prior Learning. Currently Anne manages the DIT element of a Socrates-Grundtvig
Project 2003-2005, VaLEX (Valuing Learning from Experience) and
she is joint convenor of the Irish AP(E)L Network.
